The Artist

Gina Livingston was six years old when she decided to become a musician. Her first inspiration? Great musicians such as her late mother's all time favorite, Elvis, Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye.

When she was 11, her family moved from her hometown of Sacramento , CA , to Frankfurt am Main , Germany . Her love for music grew as fast as she did—so did her ambition. She taught herself to play drums and guitar, and she became a popular musician and songwriter in the vibrant music scene in Frankfurt .

While there, she quickly gained recognition throughout Germany . Her popularity led to several television appearances, radio play, and live performances at some of the world's largest music festivals. Her ballad, “Heartbeat,” was a crowd favorite. A remix of this song was released on her 2001 release, Compilation .

Livingston blasted onto the US music scene in 1997 when her debut album, Signature to the World , was produced on her own SoulPOP Records label. Three more releases have followed, including Beneath the Raging Water (2001), Compilation (2006), and “Footsteps of My Soul” (2007).

In June 2007, the members of the Austin Songwriters Group awarded her first place prize in the rock category for “Kisses in SoCo,” and second place honors in both the pop and jazz categories for “I'll Wait for You” in their year's annual Song Contest. All of the awarded songs are featured on her latest CD release, Footsteps of My Soul

Livingston consistently delivers music that has been described as “Soulful pop jewels, all original and strong enough that they should be heard on radio stations throughout the country," ( Valley Music News), with musical skills that include “Excellent melodies, great voice, and songwriting ability” (KWOD-FM, KSEG-FM).  She combines soul, pop, rock, rhythm and blues—and a little attitude—to produce a unique sound that leaves live audiences wanting more, and has collaborated with top musicians and producers such as Brad Cole (Phil Collins) and Roger Smith (Tower of Power). Livingston has shared billings with Fleetwood Mac, Janis Ian, and Chaka Khan.

Her next step will be to hit the road—on an extended tour through Germany in 2008.
